Burning car on the I-15 catches brush on fire in the cajon pass Sunday

CAJON PASS, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Firefighters are working a vehicle fire that turned into a small brush fire near the top of the cajon pass Sunday afternoon.
At about 2:30 pm on September 22, 2019, dispatch received reports of a vehicle fire on the right shoulder of the northbound I-15, just south of Oak Hill Road.
Video posted to the Victor Valley News Group on Facebook showed a small a light blue four-door sedan fully engulfed with fire also spreading to the hillside behind it.
The incident was dubbed #LookoutIC. The fire burned 1-2 acres of vegetation before it was extinguished. The forward rate of spread was stopped by 3:00 pm.
An ambulance was requested to respond and check on an occupant from the vehicle who suffered smoke inhalation, scanner traffic reported.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident logs, the #4 and #5 lanes are closed while fire personnel continues to ensure there are no hot spots.
The official cause of the fire is under investigation by CHP.
