Apple Valley Commercial Burglary Solved After Suspect Left Paperwork With Her Name at Scene

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A commercial burglary suspect was arrested after deputies say she accidentally left behind paperwork containing her name at the scene, allowing investigators to quickly identify her.

According to a written statement from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, deputies from the Apple Valley Station responded at approximately 9:18 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, to a business in the 21000 block of State Highway 18 after receiving a report of a burglary.

During the investigation, deputies determined a woman entered the business and stole merchandise, cash, and a tablet before fleeing. However, investigators said the suspect inadvertently left behind paperwork containing her name.

Deputies reviewed surveillance footage, which confirmed the suspect’s identity as 34-year-old transient Tamaiya Moore.

Investigators later tracked the stolen tablet to a residence in the 19000 block of Corwin Road, where deputies contacted Moore. According to the Sheriff’s Department, deputies recovered the stolen tablet, merchandise, and cash during the investigation.

Moore was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center on suspicion of commercial burglary (Penal Code 459c). She is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
