51-Year-Old Man Found Dead On Conveyor Belt At Fontana Recycling Facility
FONTANA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead Monday afternoon on a recycling conveyor belt at the West Valley Material Recovery Facility in Fontana.
Deputies responded at about 4:22 p.m. on March 16, 2026, to the 13000 block of Napa Street for a medical aid call at the facility. When deputies and San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel arrived, they found a deceased adult male on a recycling conveyor belt, according to a written statement from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division’s Homicide Detail responded and took over the investigation.
Authorities identified the man as Justin Jeffrey Gill, 51, who was described by officials as a presumed transient.
According to the written statement, a preliminary investigation found Gill’s body was discovered beneath other refuse on the conveyor belt, and investigators found no immediate signs of foul play or homicide.
The official cause and manner of death are pending autopsy results.
