19-Year-Old Apple Valley Man Arrested After Allegedly Intentionally Striking Two Pedestrians With Vehicle

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 19-year-old Apple Valley man was arrested after deputies said he intentionally drove his vehicle into two pedestrians before fleeing the scene Sunday afternoon, leaving one victim with major injuries.
The incident occurred on July 26, 2026, at approximately 3:14 p.m. near Bear Valley Road and Navajo Road.
Deputies from the Apple Valley Station, along with personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District, responded to reports of a hit-and-run crash involving two pedestrians.
During the investigation, deputies determined the driver, identified as Ivan Lizarraga, intentionally drove his vehicle into the two pedestrians before fleeing the scene without rendering aid or notifying law enforcement.
According to a written statement from the Apple Valley Police Department, a 19-year-old Apple Valley woman suffered major injuries, while a 17-year-old Apple Valley boy sustained moderate injuries. Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Deputies later located Lizarraga in the 21100 block of Nisqually Road in Apple Valley, where he was arrested without incident.
Lizarraga was booked into the High Desert Detention Center on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, battery causing serious bodily injury, and felony hit-and-run causing injury. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
Court records show Lizarraga is scheduled to appear at 8 a.m. on July 29, 2026, in Victorville Superior Court.
