Calico will once again transform into a military camp during the civil war offering a look at the past.

YERMO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Calico Ghost Town will be hosting the annual civil war reenactment valentines day weekend.

The event runs from Saturday, February 15 until Sunday, February 16. Calico is open daily from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

During the event, guests can experience first hand what life was like during the 19th century and wartime.

There will be mock battles held each day of the event at 11:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. There will also be historic presentations, artillery demonstrations, troop inspections by President Abraham Lincoln and more.

Camps will be set up to offer a glimpse at the daily life of a soldier during the war and what types of conditions they faced.

Participants will be dressed in period style clothing and uniforms. There will also be blacksmith demonstrations and cannon demonstrations.

There will be a children’s craft booth that offers more quiet activities away from the noise of the battle.

There are three restaurants on-site and other vendors during the event serving food and refreshments.

Price for admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children (4-11), and children 3 and under are free.

Calico Ghost town is located at 36600 Ghost Town Rd Yermo, CA. Camping on-site at Calico is available and can be booked by calling (760) 254-2122.
