10th Annual Oro Grande Days Round Up! Event Celebrates Route 66 Centennial Year

ORO GRANDE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The 10th Annual Oro Grande Days Round Up! is scheduled to take place in Oro Grande with free admission, live entertainment, community vendors, a car show and western-themed performances.
The celebration will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 19242 National Trails Highway in Oro Grande. Organizers said the event will highlight Oro Grande’s place in High Desert history while also recognizing the 100th anniversary of Route 66 in 2026.
“Oro Grande is the oldest town in the high desert,” organizers said in the event announcement.
Pico Pistolero, identified as the leader of the cowboy gunfighter posse, said, “Oro Grande was an important part of the silver boom in the 1880s. I’m thrilled that we are able to celebrate it!”
Event highlights are expected to include a classic and custom car show, live music, games, local vendors, food trucks, the American Legion veterans group and western performances by trained gunslingers and Doc’s Calico Marshals. Organizers said one featured competition will allow children to try popping balloons with toy guns faster than the marshals.
“It is a fun event and all proceeds go back to the community of Oro Grande,” said Harout Markarian, president of the Sunsetters Car Club of Helendale.
Attendance is free and will also include a cowboy show, old western burlesque dancers, local artists and a live band performance.
Jim and Donna Granger, owners of Cross-Eyed Cow Pizza, said, “Cross-Eyed Cow Pizza, along with many community volunteers, is proud to sponsor the 10th Annual Oro Grande Days to keep the spirit of the west alive in the high desert.”
Cross-Eyed Cow Pizza is listed as the event sponsor. Organizers said car show participants should arrive by 7 a.m. and can register on location through Markarian.
For sponsorship or vendor information, organizers asked interested participants to email OroGrandeVendor@gmail.com.
