Firefighters Stop Commercial Blaze Before It Reaches Cross Eyed Cow Pizza In Oro Grande

ORO GRANDE, Calif. (VVNG.com) – San Bernardino County Fire crews stopped a commercial structure fire from spreading to Cross Eyed Cow Pizza early Saturday morning.
The fire was reported at 1:03 a.m. on May 30, 2026, in the 19200 block of National Trails Highway. The first-arriving engine company found a boarded-up commercial building fully involved in flames.
Fire officials said the building had previously sustained fire damage, creating additional challenges for firefighters. Crews immediately worked to protect nearby businesses, including the adjacent restaurant, which was threatened by intense radiant heat.
Smoke was observed coming from the exterior of the neighboring building, but firefighters prevented the flames from extending to surrounding structures.
The bulk of the fire was knocked down in about 35 minutes, and no damage was reported to nearby businesses.

Due to significant structural compromise, including a roof collapse and unstable flooring, crews used an aerial master stream from a ladder truck to safely extinguish remaining fire inside the building.
Six engines, one truck company, one brush patrol, two battalion chiefs, and one fire investigator responded. Apple Valley Fire Protection District also assisted.
No injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation by San Bernardino County Fire’s Office of the Fire Marshal.
