
BARSTOW, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The City of Barstow is inviting residents to help choose a new name for its revitalized Route 66 Pocket Park, with community members encouraged to submit suggestions before the survey deadline of Aug. 16, 2026.
According to the city’s announcement, the refreshed community space is undergoing revitalization ahead of its anticipated reopening this fall and officials are seeking a name that reflects Barstow’s history, character and Route 66 heritage.
The city states that the park “is getting a fresh new look—and it needs a name!” Residents are encouraged to submit ideas that capture the spirit of Barstow and its iconic Route 66 identity.
Community members can participate by scanning the QR code included in the city’s promotional flyer or by visiting the online survey at: City of Barstow Route 66 Pocket Park Naming Survey
The survey will remain open through 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 16, 2026. The city anticipates reopening the revitalized pocket park this fall.
The announcement concludes by encouraging residents to take part in the project, stating, “Your voice can help leave a lasting mark on Barstow!”
