Search Ongoing For 55-Year-Old Piñon Hills Woman Missing Since Monday
PIÑON HILLS, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Family members and authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating 55-year-old Kay Colwell-Pilitsis, who was reported missing after leaving her home on foot Monday, May 25, in the Piñon Hills area.
According to family members, Colwell-Pilitsis left home to go for a walk near Oasis Road and Locust Road, but they said walking alone was not something she normally did. She did not take her phone with her, and her purse and identification were later found at the residence.
Gloria Orejel, spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, said, “She was last seen around Pearblossom Hwy & Hwy 138, walking west towards LA County. A K9 and Sheriff’s Aviation was deployed with negative results. The investigation is ongoing.”
Colwell-Pilitsis is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 155 to 160 pounds. She has gray hair with some brown, blue eyes and wears prescription glasses.
Family members said they do not know what clothing she was wearing when she left because she had changed clothes before leaving the home.
According to relatives, Colwell-Pilitsis has lived in the Piñon Hills area for years, is familiar with the community, and is known by many local residents.
