Wrightwood Evacuations Reduced to Voluntary

WRIGHTWOOD, Calif:(VVNG.com)- Effective Saturday, August 20th, at 12:00 p.m., the mandatory evacuation orders for the community of Wrightwood will be reduced to voluntary, authorities said.
A road closure at Highway 138 and Highway 2 will remain in effect till further notice. Only residents who provide verification of residency will be allowed past the road closure.
“We appreciate all the people who evacuated the Wrightwood area. The Blue Cut Fire posed a real danger to residents living in these areas. Your safety remains our top concern.”
Residents returning back home are urged to exercise caution as firefighters, engines, and heavy equipment continue to operate in the area.
“The San Bernardino County Sheriff will continue enhanced patrols through these areas with additional units,” stated the release.
The remaining mandatory evacuations will be lifted as soon as the danger to residents has been reduced.
