ADELANTO:(VVNG.com)- A woman was transported by ground ambulance after her vehicle slammed into the rear of a tractor-trailer. The major damage collision was reported at about 8:15 PM on Friday, January 8th.
The woman was traveling westbound on Air Express Way just east of Adelanto Road when for unknown reasons she slammed into the rear of the semi. “The truck was stopped in the left lane with no lights on and engine not running. I stopped as fast as I could, but could not get around him on time,” said Christina Douglas, the driver of the sedan.
Firefighters responded and assisted with removing the woman from the vehicle.
As part of the investigation the driver of the semi was administered a field sobriety test. He was later released and no arrest was made.
Westbound traffic was temporarily blocked while authorities conducted the investigation. The woman was transported to the hospital for treatment of bruising, a broken ankle and a broken tibia.
The exact cause of the collision is currently under investigation. More information will be updated as it becomes available.
