HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Police are investigating a robbery after a woman sitting inside a parked car was pistol-whipped and robbed at gunpoint.
It happened at about 9:25 pm, on May 11, 2019, in the 10000 block of Locust Avenue in Hesperia.
Hesperia sheriff’s station spokesman Edgar Moran said when deputies arrived on scene they learned that the victim parked her vehicle at the location when an unknown subject smashed the driver side window of the victim’s vehicle and opened the door.
“The subject then hit the victim over the head with a black handgun and took $400 and a purse from the victim,” stated Moran.
According to Moran, the suspect then got into a beige sedan and fled southbound on Locust Street.
Deputies were unable to locate the subject on an area check and evidence was collected on scene, Moran said.
This is still an ongoing investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Hesperia Station at (760)947-1500.
