Woman raped by stranger in her car outside 99 Cent store in Hesperia

HESPERIA, Calif. ( — A woman was allegedly raped and robbed by a stranger as she attempted to get into her vehicle parked in a busy shopping center Monday morning.

It happened at about 11:20 am, on July 15, 2019, in the 99 Cent store parking lot on the 17200 block of Main Street in Hesperia.

Edgar Moran spokesman for the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station said the victim reported she was in the parking lot when she was grabbed from behind and pushed into the back seat of her vehicle by an unknown Black male adult.

“While in the back seat of the vehicle, the suspect forced himself onto the victim and started to have un-consensual sex with her. The encounter lasted approximately 1 minute,” stated Moran.

Following the rape, the suspect fled on foot and ran towards Main Street where a tan SUV type vehicle picked him up.

“The suspect also took the victim’s cell phone and wallet,” stated Moran.

The suspect is described as a black male adult, approximately 30 years old, 5’10”, 200 pounds. He was wearing a black hat with a yellow symbol, a yellow t-shirt, black pants, and had a backpack on.

“The suspect also had the letter “P” tattooed on his left forearm and the word “King” above his right elbow and was missing his front right tooth,” stated Moran.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Hesperia Sheriff’s Department at 760-947-1500.
