Woman Killed on Palmdale Road in Adelanto Identified

ADELANTO-(VVNG.com): A 25-year-old woman, now identified by family as Demetrius Willis lost her life after a vehicle struck her in the area of Baldy Mesa and Palmdale Road. On Wednesday, June 3, 2015 dispatch received the vehicle versus pedestrian report just before 9:00 p.m.
AMR units arrived just minutes after the call and determined that the petite woman was dead on arrival. The driver of the Kia SUV stopped after impact to assess the situation and answer any deputy questions.
In late 2014, Willis went on a trip with friends and decided to stay in California. Her dream was to one day move to New York to pursue a career as a R&B singer.
“My cousin was a very loving person, and still I can not believe this happened to her. I cry every day and I miss her so much. I feel as if I took her life for granted,” said Joyclyn Boyd.
The family of Willis is not only heartbroken they now have the financial stress of trying to bring the body of their loved one back to her hometown of Dallas, Texas and also the costs that will be associate with her burial.
Her cousin, Joyclyn Boyd describes Willis as outgoing, and as someone loving to travel. Willis leaves behind her grieving mother, older brother and younger sister as well as other extended family.
