VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified the woman killed in Thursday night’s crash as April Evett, 36, of Lucerne Valley.
The two-vehicle crash happened at about 5:53 pm, on January 10, 2019, north of the intersection at Village Drive and Eto Camino Road.
“Upon arrival, deputies determined that a white Kia Optima was driving west on Eto Camino Road and a silver GMC Yukon was driving north on Village Drive,” stated a sheriff’s news release.
The driver of the Kia, April Evett crossed the northbound lanes of Village Drive and in the path of the oncoming SUV. The GMC collided with the driver side of the Kia, causing major damage to both vehicles.
April Evett was pronounced deceased at the scene at 6:06 pm, officials said. The male driver of the GMC was airlifted to a trauma center with major injuries, his condition remains unknown.
Friend and family are in shock and disbelief as they continue to learn about April’s passing.
“Her name was April, and she was a good mom and person, she tried so hard for her son’s and her students, she was loved and would’ve prayed for the people in the other car please God watch over her and the people in the other car. She was a good girl. God help us to understand,” stated VVNG.com commenter Terry Ingold.
