Woman High on Meth Arrested for Sledgehammer Attack in Adelanto

ADELANTO:(VVNG.com)- A 29-year-old Adelanto woman is currently being held on a $50,000 bail for allegedly hitting a victim with a sledge-hammer.

The incident was reported on Monday, September 14, 2015 when deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station, assigned to the City of Adelanto, were dispatched to a report of an assault at a residence on the 11500 block of Winter Place.

Deputy Christopher Haas responded to the report and found the unidentified victim had been hit with a sledge-hammer at least three times.

According to authorities, the investigation revealed that the victim and suspect, identified as Madel Rodriguez had smoked methamphetamine together and had not slept for approximately 2 days.

The victim began to go to sleep and woke up to being hit in the head by Rodriguez, twice in the head and once in the arm with a sledge-hammer.

Madel Rodriguez was arrested on charges of felony assault and was booked at High Desert Detention Center.

Rodriguez is scheduled to appear in the Victorville court-house on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 12:30 P.M.
