
HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The suspect, Stephen Anthony Thomas was detained by two off-duty police officers after he allegedly dragged a woman from a moving vehicle Monday afternoon.
It happened at about 12:49 pm, in the area of Main Street and Rock Springs Road in Hesperia when a disturbance call was reported by two off-duty deputies, officials said.
According to sheriff’s service specialist Edgar Moran, the off-duty deputies witnessed Thomas, 32, of Hesperia, and the victim fighting inside of a moving vehicle.
“The off duty deputies observed the victim exiting the passenger side when Thomas then accelerated the vehicle, causing the victim to fall into the open doorway and be dragged approximately 20 feet,” stated Moran.
The victim managed to break free from the moving vehicle and fell into the number two lane of Main Street.
“The off-duty deputies detained Thomas until on-duty deputies arrived on scene,” stated Morain.
Thomas was arrested and booked into High Desert Detention Center for PC245(a)4) Assault With a Deadly Weapon, VC23103A Reckless Driving, and PC21810 Manufacturing or Sale of Metal Knuckles and is currently being held in lieu of a $125k bail.
