Woman arrested for attempting to ‘kill’ ex-husband in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A woman was arrested for attempted murder after she violated her restraining order and allegedly attempted to kill her ex-husband, officials said.

It happened at 3:53 pm, on Sunday, July 22, 2018, in the 16500 block of Santiago Street in Victorville.

Deputies were requested to respond to the residence after receiving reports of a violation of court order.

According to Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez, Claudia Garcia, 42, a Victorville transient, entered the residence of her ex-husband, against a court-ordered restraining order protecting him.

“Several members of the victim’s family, including children, were at the location when Garcia entered without permission. Garcia was armed with a knife and attempted to kill the victim,” stated Rodriguez.

Family members were able to intervene and get the knife away from the suspect. Deputies arrived and arrested Garcia and booked her into the High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder.

According to public arrests records, Garcia is currently being held on a $1 Million dollar bail and is scheduled for arraignment in a Victorville courtroom on July 24, 2018.
