Wilk honors Nancy Tong Insurance Agency as his December Small Business of the Month

SACRAMENTO – Senator Scott Wilk, representing the 21st Senate District, honored Nancy Tong Insurance Agency, Inc. as his Small Business of the Month. Community members, local businesses, customers, family and friends joined Nancy and her staff today for Senator Wilk’s presentation of the award.

“Nancy has a great personal story. She came to this country from Taiwan as a small child, became a citizen in the 1980s, served in the US Navy as a young adult and then went on to open her own insurance agency,” said Wilk. “She has a great appreciation for our community and does so much to support the families and businesses here in the Victor Valley.” 

Nancy Tong is the owner of Nancy Tong Insurance Agency in Hesperia. She opened the business 4.5 years ago but has been in the industry 9 years. She is always at the ready to contribute to the betterment of our community by helping youth, supporting education and special needs families.

She serves with the Hesperia Unified School District Parent Coordinating Council (PCC) to raise funds for scholastic scholarships for high school seniors, is the secretary for the Centennial Lion’s Club and advisor for the Junior Leo’s (under 18).

Nancy is also the secretary of the Rock’n Our Disabilities Foundation serving children and families dealing with special needs and is an active member of both the Hesperia and Victor Valley Chambers of Commerce.

“It’s an honor and privilege to be recognized by Senator Wilk,” said Tong. “I have a great team here at Nancy Tong Insurance Agency who understand the importance of doing the best work possible for our clients and Hesperia. Giving back to a community that is so supportive of my business, my family and me is truly a pleasure. Thank you Senator Wilk for this recognition.”

Small businesses are the economic engine of California. There are 3.7 million small businesses in California, employing 49.6 percent of the state’s workers.
