ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Several videos were posted to social media this afternoon showing a woman recklessly avoiding an alleged repossession from a shopping center parking lot in Adelanto.
It happened at the Stater Brothers shopping center on Highway 395 when witnesses say they saw a woman driving away as her vehicle was in the process of being towed.
“As the lady was trying to get out of the parking space she drove forward and almost crashed into the building I was in,” Lucero Gomez told Victor Valley News.
Gomez quickly noticed all the chaos was happening right next to her parked car.
“I noticed everything happening right next to my car, and I’m not sure how it works, but if the woman was dangerously trying to escape you think the tow truck driver would just let her go,” Lucero Gomez told Victor Valley News.
Gomez said she made a quick plea to the driver of the tow truck to let the erratic woman go in order to avoid her car from getting hit.
However, Gomez told Victor Valley News her vehicle was scratched by the tow truck as it sped away in the direction of the Honda. Gomez has since filed a police report with the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station.
In the video, a woman could be heard yelling at the driver, “you got kids in the car, baby, calm down”. Two small unrestrained children could be seen in the back seat as the driver of the vehicle violently jumps the curb in an attempt to avoid the hook from the tow truck.
The involved Honda and tow truck left the scene and sheriff’s officials haven’t released any information on the incident.
Additional details will be updated as it becomes available.
