(VVNG.com)- Thanksgiving is a great time where friends and family join together to be thankful for what they do have. Although some do not have a lot of material things, when you think about what really matters we just about all have what is most important.
Most share a meal and have a day where all other distractions from daily life are forgotten so they can spend quality time with those who mean the most to us. The meal is really an extra, but for many a tradition. We all can agree that the economy is not that great and there are local families that struggle with even the basics. This makes it difficult for these families to provide this extra for their family. We will be taking nominations of people you know that may be in need in early November, but for now Victor Valley News needs help to make this happen.
We are looking for a few caring business sponsors, there will be a limited contribution from those and the contribution will be tax-deductible. This will fund the turkey’s and other needs we have to make this happen. We are also seeking private donations and drop off locations for those private donations. Most of these food donations will be used directly for the Thanksgiving baskets, but others will go to a local food bank that is being set up in Victorville. Please take all your inquiries about being a drop off location or a sponsor to advertising@vvng.com. Private donations (canned goods as well as other Thanksgiving items) will also be accepted, as soon as we have some drop off information set up we will offer that.
For inquiries about how to request one for a friend of family member please be patient as the announcement will be coming in early November.
