Victorville, CA (June 28, 2013) – “Victor Valley Community Hospital was founded in 1967 as a 54 acute care bed, non-profit facility, eventually growing to 115 beds. On October 16, 2012, VVCH was purchased by KPC Global and began an exciting journey. As the hospital transitions to a new name, Victor Valley Global Medical Center, and a renewed vision of being the premiere healthcare facility in the High Desert, many improvements have taken place and more continue as the facility upgrades, renovates, and expands services for the community.
With the recent HealthGrades Maternity Care and Gynecologic Surgery Excellence recognition, the hospital staff and physicians are energized as they work together continuing the strive for excellence. New equipment including electroencephalography (EEG), computed tomography (CT), bronchoscopes, endoscopes, ultrasound machines, ventilators, and an upgraded catheterization lab (Cath Lab) with more planned in the next few months.
In addition to internal facilities upgrades, the hospital is undergoing changes on the outside of the facility including new paint scheme and other amenities. “The change in ownership has given the hospital, physicians, and the staff a new beginning and everyone has embraced the future for the community’s new hospital” says Daniel Villarosa, MD, Chief of Staff, VVGMC, “It is such a great feeling to be recognized for everyone’s efforts in maternity and gynecologic care. We have such great things to share with our community! With the expertise that exists in all of the departments, we expect more awards and recognition in the future.”
The hospital is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of area business professionals and physicians and is fully accredited by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP) and the California Medical Association (CMA).”
