VVC is Growing and Looking For Local Contractors & Subcontractors

VICTORVILLE:(VVNG.com)- Victor Valley College and Balfour Beatty Construction invite local contractors and subcontractors to participate in an Outreach Workshop for local construction projects at Victor Valley College.
The upcoming open house workshop is scheduled for Friday, March 4th from 1:00 p.m., – 3:00 p.m., at Victor Valley College’s Student Activities Center in building 44. Guest speakers will include Steven Gillman, Sophia Cavalli & Steve Garcia.
During the workshop, attendees will learn about additional upcoming partnership opportunities that include a $4.5 Million Automotive/Welding classroom building. As well as reviewing the prequalification process, bonding, safety program and much more.
According to Steve Garcia, Director of Facilities, Construction & Contracts, “Victor Valley College’s goal is to maximize opportunities for local subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors on construction projects at VVC. We want to ensure to achieve ensure maximum participation of local businesses and workers in all phases of our campus projects”.
This includes Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Structural steel, Framing, Roofing, Low voltage/ signal, Glazing & storefront and Concrete/Asphalt.
Extended project notice will be given to ensure maximum competition and inclusion of local businesses in all project phases.
Balfour Beatty will work diligently to design bid packages that enable the highest Victorville, CA and surrounding areas subcontractor utilization without adversely affecting the project design, bid process, or financial feasibility. To achieve this we will:
- Size bid packages and contracts for local subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Divide contract work items into economically feasible work packages based on input received during outreach and subcontracting fairs and responses to our advertisements
- Clearly define our subcontractor selection processes
- Include local business, vendor, supplier and expectations in all project notifications and subcontracts
