VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Victor Valley College Theatre Arts proudly presents In the Heights, the electrifying, Tony Award®–winning musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda with a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, running March 6 through March 15, 2026 at the Victor Valley College Performing Arts Center.
Winner of four Tony Awards®, including Best Musical, and the Grammy Award® for Best Musical Show Album, In the Heights is celebrated worldwide for its groundbreaking music, vibrant storytelling, and authentic portrayal of Latino culture and community. The musical’s impact expanded even further with its feature film adaptation debuting five years ago, introducing the story to a new generation of audiences.
Set in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City, the musical follows Usnavi de la Vega, a charismatic bodega owner navigating dreams of love, legacy, and belonging.
At Victor Valley College, the role of Usnavi is brought to life by VVC student actor Gabriel De La Paz, whose performance anchors the heart of the show. “This show is a very strong presentation of how the Latino community is united,” said De La Paz. “We’re always gonna be here and we’re here to stay.”

The VVC production features a dynamic student cast and a live orchestra from the College’s Music Department, delivering a high-energy blend of hip-hop, salsa, merengue, and soul that has made the musical a modern classic. The stage is transformed by a striking set of two, two-story city buildings, rising nearly 20 feet high to bring Washington Heights vividly to life.
To celebrate the return of this award-winning story to the stage, Victor Valley College is going all out with a special Buy One, Get One (BOGO) ticket offer. Audience members can receive one free ticket with the purchase of a general admission ticket by entering the promo code RamsBOGO at checkout.
As always, VVC students with a valid ASB card receive free admission.
In the Heights has been widely praised for redefining representation on the American stage, celebrating resilience, heritage, and the power of community. Since its Broadway debut, the musical has resonated across generations and continues to be recognized for its cultural and artistic impact.
