VVC campus police investigating sexual assault that occurred last month

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Victor Valley College students received a “VVC alert” notifying them to an alleged sexual assault on campus that occurred last month but was only reported today by the victim.

The text notification alert was received by hundreds of students and staff just before 5:00 pm on Thursday, October 10th.

According to the VVC alert, on September 11, 2019, at about 3:00 pm, a sexual assault happened in the women’s restroom inside the Liberal Arts building, located on the lower campus of the college.

VVC officials said the incident was just reported today, as the victim delayed reporting until today.

VVC Spokesman, Robert Sewell, told VVNG “they have an obligation to ensure that the campus community is aware.”

The suspect was described as a male with a dark complexion. Officials said he was wearing a black baseball cap, gray hoody, dirty blue/gray Jordans with black/gray graffiti on the outer side and carrying a brown Louis Vuitton backpack.

People are reminded to exercise caution and notify the Campus Police Department at ext. 2555 if you see someone matching the suspect’s description.
