VPD Asking for Public’s Assistance

On Friday, December 6, 2013 an unknown Asian female suspect entered Ozel’s Jewelry store located in the city of Victorville and stole approximately $150,000 in loose diamonds. The suspect showed interest in purchasing high quality diamonds and was able to steal a paper bindle, known as a parcel, with several diamonds in it by using ‘Slight of Hand’, and various distraction methods. The suspect did purchase one diamond for $800, but refused to provide any of her personal information for the receipt. After she paid the $800 in cash, she stated she needed to leave and meet with her husband. The suspect left the business in a gold colored 2000-2002 Toyota Sienna minivan.

suspect vehicleOn Tuesday, December 10, 2013, the same Asian female suspect entered Giantto’s Jewelry store in Tarzana, California. By using ‘Slight of Hand’ and various distractions methods, she stole a 5.7 carat diamond ring from Giantto’s. She also showed interest in other jewelry and purchased a watch and a ring for $800 cash. After she purchased the watch and ring, she stated she needed to meet with her husband, refused to provide any personal information for the receipt and left the store. (LAPD Case # 131018738)
