PHELAN:( Hundreds turned out to Serrrano High School for a solemn farewell to 18-year-old Nicole Lyle and 16-year-old John Cabrera, two lives that were tragically cut short in the horrific Tuesday night accident near Hwy 138 and the 15 freeway. The accident left two dead and three severely injured. The group of people who knew the pair consoled each other, spoke about who John and Nicole were.

As the crowd looked at the thoughtfully placed candles, flowers, photos and John’s motorcycle some cried out in deep anguish, while others mourned in silence. The crowd shared their deep sorrow for the loss of these lively, happy and very much-loved teens.

Their three surviving friends who were in the accident with them have a long road to recovery, Shane Gretzner, 19 is suffering from 6 broken ribs, Mikey Baker, 18 from a broken arm and nerve damage and 15-year-old David Castaneda from several broken bones. In a Victor Valley News group update, David’s mother posted, “David is doing well. high spirits and more worried about everyone else. Please continue to pray as he is going into surgery at 8 am to fix both legs and wrist. We as a family appreciate all the love and support we are getting from everyone.”

Friend, Audrey Bennett Meriweather posted “John & Nicole were my best friends this is so unreal, you guys are already so missed”.
