Victorville Woman Arrested For Child Endangerment

According to a Sheriff’s press release, “On Monday May 27, 2013 at 12:46 p.m. Deputies responded to the Winco supermarket in reference to a 2-year-old baby being inside a locked vehicle in the parking lot of the location with no supervision. Deputy Ripley responded and found the baby crying inside the car. All of the doors were locked and the windows were rolled up. Ripley could not find the baby’s parent or the owner of the car, so he broke out a window to free the child.
The baby’s mother, Lakisha Treadway and her boyfriend, Freddie Tate, arrived several minutes later. They had been shopping inside the store. The temperature inside the car was found to be over 100 degrees. The baby was unattended for about 25 minutes before Deputy Ripley was able to get her out of the car. The baby was transported to Victor Valley Hospital for evaluation.
Treadway was arrested for Child Endangerment and booked into Victorville jail. Tate, who is not the baby’s father, will be named as a suspect in the case and a report will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.
