Victorville pursuit ends in fiery crash; suspect in custody

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A suspect with a warrant for his arrest led deputies on a dangerous pursuit that ended in a fiery crash Monday afternoon.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jodi Miller said the pursuit started at about 3:30 pm. in Hesperia at the I-15 freeway and Ranchero Road.

Miller said deputies identified the driver of a grey Jeep Compass as a suspect with an arrest warrant. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect failed to yield.

The pursuit continued into Victorville and the driver exited onto Nisqually Road from the northbound I-15.

“The suspect was driving erratically with no regard for Public Safety.  The pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle collided into a fence of a residence at Nisqually and Hickory.

Miller said no one at the residence was injured and the driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Eastbound traffic on Nisqually Rd. was shutdown while officers investigated and cleared the roadway.
