Victorville Prison on Lockdown After Staff Injured During Altercation

VICTORVILLE, CA:(VVNG.com)– On Tuesday, October 11, 2016, shortly after 6:00 p.m., an altercation occurred involving multiple inmates at the Federal Correctional Institution 1 (FCI-1), in Victorville, California.
Staff quickly contained the incident and returned all inmates to their housing units without further incident. Four staff
members sustained minor injuries requiring no outside medical attention.
All inmates involved were medically assessed, and those receiving minor injuries were treated at the facility. At no time was the public in danger.
The institution was placed on limited operational status while the incident is investigated, and will return to full operations
as soon as possible.
The FCI-1 is one of four facilities at the Federal Correctional Complex located in Victorville, California. It currently houses
approximately 1,246 medium security male offenders.
