VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Authorities are searching for an alleged gunman who opened fire on an unsuspecting couple driving in their vehicle.
On April 21, 2018, at 8:47 pm, deputies responded to the 14000 block of Canterbury Drive in the area of Green Tree Blvd. and 7th Street in Victorville reference several shots fired at the reporting party’s vehicle.
Anna Bella is the victim’s sister and she decided to warn the community and post about her brother’s terrifying experience to Victor Valley News Group on Facebook.
“My baby brother and his girlfriend were driving home and stopped at a stop sign and a guy walking opened fire on them for no reason. He shot up the whole truck and a bullet went through the window,” described Bella.
Bella said one of the bullets struck the rear windshield and barely missed her brother’s head. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said deputies received several calls in the area of 7th/LaPaz, Greentree Bl., and St. Andrews Dr. of gunshots heard in the area. “Deputies conducted area checks but were unable to locate the suspect responsible,” stated Bachman.
According to the sheriff’s call logs, dispatch received a separate report of shooting at 10:12 pm in the area of E Sage St. and St. Andrews Drive in Victorville.
Details of the on-going investigation remain scarce and sheriff’s officials have not released any suspect information.
