VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The Victorville Police Department will conduct DUI patrols on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., targeting drivers suspected of driving under the influence.
The department said officers will be looking for impaired drivers throughout the enforcement period as part of ongoing efforts to improve roadway safety in Victorville.
“Impaired driving is preventable,” Sergeant J. Snyder said. “It’s a choice. If you’ve been drinking or taken drugs that impair, make the right choice by finding a sober driver or alternate transportation to take you places.”
Victorville Police Department reminded the public that impaired driving is not limited to alcohol. The department said some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving, and drivers should follow directions for use and read warning labels about driving.
The department also noted that while medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.
According to the department, drivers arrested for a first-time DUI can face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, along with a suspended license.
Funding for the program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
