Victorville man takes his life after police respond to domestic diturbance call

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 51-year-old Victorville man took his own life after deputies responded to investigate a domestic disturbance Wednesday.

At about 12:30 pm, deputies with the Victorville Police Department responded to a residence in the 15600 block of Fresno Court after receiving reports that Arnulfo Padilla was upset and breaking things inside the house, officials said.

“Deputies arriving at the scene contacted Padilla at the front door of the house. Padilla had a firearm and pointed it at himself. As deputies talked with Padilla they attempted to get him to drop the gun, he instead stepped further into the house and out of their sight, shortly after deputies heard a single gunshot,” stated a Thursday morning sheriff’s news release.

Upon entering the house deputies located Padilla on the floor with a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound. Padilla was pronounced deceased at the scene. No one else was in the house and no other injuries were reported.
