VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A Victorville man with a restraining order is under arrest for attempted murder after he allegedly showed up at his ex-girlfriend’s home and shot at her.
It happened on April 1, 2019, in the 1600 block of C Street in Victorville.
At about 12:48 am, deputies responded to the location after receiving a report of someone shooting a firearm inside a residence, sheriff’s officials said.
Victorville sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said deputies identified the suspect as 40-year-old Matthew Andrew Lara and learned he showed up where his ex-girlfriend lives.
“Lara is prohibited from contacting the victim, due to a restraining order against him. The victim made it known she did not want him there but he ignored her and continued into the house. He then fired one shot from a handgun towards the victim, missing her,” stated Rodriguez.
After shooting the firearm at the victim, Lara fled on foot.
Deputies located him in the desert near the victim’s home. He was taken into custody without incident, arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for violating a protection order and attempted murder.
