Victorville Man Sentenced to 21 Years In Prison For 2012 Murder

VICTORVILLE-(VVNG.com): A Victorville man was sentenced to 21 years in prison on Friday, for the shooting murder of 33-year-old Daniel Redd.

Jose Antonio Perez, 35 was sentenced after pleading no contest to voluntary manslaughter charges as part of a plea bargain in order to drop murder charges.

The charges stemmed from the body of Redd being located in a 2006 Hyundai Sonata with the motor still running in the area of Tawney Ridge and Rocky Knoll Lanes on the morning of November 2, 2012. The 2012 Sheriff’s press release indicated that the body was found slumped over in the vehicle that was parked in a field after residents reported shots fired at about 4:30 a.m.

The discovery of the deceased man later identified as Redd ignited a Homicide investigation, which lead detectives to Perez the following week. Investigators interviewed Perez and subsequently arrested him for the shooting death of Redd.

According to court records, Perez will be serving about 17 ½ years at the California Departments of Corrections in Chino after credit for time served as well as conduct credit.
