Victorville man arrested in connection to 22 armed robberies

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Carlos Alberto Gutierrez, a 38-year old Victorville resident, has been arrested in connection to 22 armed robberies that occurred over several jurisdictions, officials said.

Detectives from Victorville Police Department, Colton Police Department, Pomona Police Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff, and Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms coordinated investigative efforts related to approximately 22 armed robberies that occurred between late 2018 and early January 2020.

According to a news release, the robberies spanned several law enforcement jurisdictions in San Bernardino County, Riverside County, Los Angeles County, and included the cities of Victorville, Colton, Upland, Rowland Heights, Glendora, San Dimas, and Pomona.

“During the commission of the robberies, the suspect wore Nike Air Jordan apparel and used a knife to rob the businesses. After months of coordinated investigation, surveillance, and several search warrants, detectives identified the suspect as Carlos Alberto Gutierrez.

On March 11, 2020, detectives served a search warrant at Gutierrez’s Victorville residence and found evidence tying Gutierrez to the robberies. Gutierrez was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for robbery and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
