Victorville Man Arrested for Willful Cruelty to a 2-Year-Old Child

VICTORVILLE:(VVNG.com)- A 35-year-old Victorville man identified as Robert Montgomery was arrested for willful cruelty to a child after hospital officials reported a 2-year-old child with a broken leg.
According to a press release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, on December 11, 2015, at about 5:13 p.m., deputies from Victorville City Station received an immediate response referral from San Bernardino County Children and Family Services (CFS). The referral stated a 2-year-old female child presented to Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital with a broken femur, which was suspicious in nature. The child was admitted into the hospital for treatment.
Victorville City Station contacted the Specialized Investigations Division – Crimes Against Children Detail for assistance in the investigation. Detectives from Crimes Against Children, Victorville City Station and personnel from Children and Family Services conducted an investigation and numerous interviews with persons in the home on the 13000 block of Cypress Avenue in Victorville that had been with the child.
On December 15, 2015 at approximately 6:40 a.m., detectives arrested Robert Montgomery. He was booked into the Central Detention Center for violation of Penal Code section 273a(a) Willful Cruelty to a Child. Montgomery is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment in Victorville Superior Court on December 17, 2015.
