Victorville man arrested for robbery after meeting up to buy a PlayStation

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Carl Lewis, 23, a resident of Victorville, was arrested for robbery after he arranged an online meeting to buy a Playstation.

It happened on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at about 1:21 pm, in the 7800 block of Victor Avenue in Hesperia. Deputies were called to the location for a robbery that had just occurred, officials said.

“The victim advised deputies that Lewis had come to the location to look at a PlayStation 4 gaming system that the victim had for sale,” stated sheriff’s spokeswoman Jodi Miller.

According to Miller, “the suspect was in his vehicle inspecting the system when he attempted to flee the location without paying for it.  The suspect, for an unknown reason, ran into a nearby fence in his attempts to flee.  Lewis exited the vehicle and deputies located him down the street from the location and he was arrested.”

Lewis was arrested for PC211 Robbery and remains in custody at High Desert Detention Center ineligible for bail due to a violating his parole PC3056. He’s scheduled for a preliminary arraignment in a Victorville courtroom on December 3, 2019.
