Victorville Man Arrested For Burglarizing His Mother’s Home

VICTORVILLE-(VVNG.com): A 43-year-old Victorville man was arrested on suspicion of burglary at about 12:40 p.m. on August 12th in the 16700 block of Forrest Avenue.

The report was made when the mother of the suspect identified as, Duane Bernard Cameron came home to find him there.

According to authorities, the mother stated that Cameron does not live in the home and is not welcome there due to past drug use. She also stated that he appeared to be under the influence of drugs at the time of her arrival at her home.

“Cameron was let into the residence by victim’s granddaughter, who didn’t know not to let him in,” said San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Spokesman, Sgt. Dave Burgess.

While in the home Cameron took some items belonging to residents and also destroyed some other items. When deputies arrived on scene, Cameron was found to be in possession of some of the victim’s property and was subsequently arrested for burglary.

Sgt. Burgess said, “You don’t have to force entry into a location to be charged with burglary. The doors of the dwelling can be wide open, all you have to do is enter and commit the theft, or any other felony and you meet the criteria for burglary.”

Cameron was booked into the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, where he is being held without bail due to a post-conviction supervision violation. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, August 14th for an arraignment hearing.
