Victorville Man Arrested for Attempted Murder in Stabbing

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) Police arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed another man behind a shopping center in Victorville, according to authorities.
Officers were called to the stabbing in the area of Seventh Street and La Paz Drive around 2:02 p.m. Saturday.
The suspect, Desmen Bentley, confronted the victim, a 37-year-old male and stabbed him multiple times in his chest, arm, and back, authorities said.
When deputies arrived the victim was bleeding and having difficulty breathing. He was flown to a trauma center for medical treatment.
It’s unclear what led up to the stabbing. Police are still investigating and haven’t yet determined a motive for the attack.
The suspect was arrested for attempted murder and booked at the High Desert Detention Center. Bentley, a Victorville resident, is being held in lieu of $1 million bail, according to jail records.
