Victorville K-9 Unit involved in accident Friday night

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) —  A Victorville Deputy and his K-9 partner were involved in a crash with civilian Friday night, sending one person to the hospital.

The crash was reported at 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Amargosa Road and La Mesa Road in the city of Victorville.

It involved a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s patrol unit out of the Victorville station and a silver Toyota 4Runner.

The female driver of the 4Runner was transported by ground ambulance to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Deputy Higuera and his partner Raider were not injured during the collision.

Westbound lanes of La Mesa Road were temporarily closed for the investigation and while the roadway was cleared.

The official cause of the crash is under investigation by the Victorville Police Department. Additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
