Victorville Home Damaged in Monday Evening Fire

VICTORVILLE-(VVNG.com): San Bernardino County Firefighters responded to a residential structure fire on the 16000 block of Barranca Way near Escorza Lane in Victorville on Monday evening. The report was made by an area resident at 6:18 p.m. reporting that flames were showing from the top of the approximately 1500 square foot single story, family home and they were unsure if everyone was out.

Firefighters arrived on scene by 6:21 p.m. to the single family home with visible flames and smoke showing from the roof and garage area of the home. Firefighters efforts were impeded by the barred windows, which they had to cut off in order to gain entrance to the burning structure. After a primary search of the interior of the home it was confirmed that there were no occupants in the home.

The fire was knocked down at about 6:39 p.m. There were no injuries reported as a result of this fire. Building and safety were made aware of the now damaged, vacant home in order to properly secure it.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, at this time it is believed that the fire may have been set by local transients. The estimated damage is still yet to be determined.
