VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — One of Victorville’s longest-running Independence Day traditions is changing locations this year as the city’s annual fireworks celebration moves from the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds to Hawk Stadium at Silverado High School.

The event will be located at 14048 Cobalt Road and will feature live entertainment, food vendors, giveaways, and a fireworks show.

According to information provided by City of Victorville Public Information Officer Sue Jones, the City is introducing the new venue as part of an expanded community celebration.

For many Victorville residents, the annual fireworks display has been more than just a community event. Families living in neighborhoods surrounding the fairgrounds have traditionally watched the show from their yards, while others gathered along Seventh Street and the surrounding area to enjoy the fireworks with friends and relatives.

The relocation marks the end of a tradition that many longtime residents have associated with Independence Day celebrations in Victorville for generations.
