Victorville Felon Arrested for Carrying a Concealed Stolen Firearm

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) A 49-year-old felon was arrested for carrying a concealed stolen firearm, authorities said.

Lance Jones, a resident of Victorville was taken into custody on Sunday, July 9, 2017, in the area of Tawney Ridge Lane and Sueno Lane.

At about 5:45 am, deputies from the Victorville Police Department were conducting an area search for a subject involved in a domestic disturbance.

Deputy D. Hoffman observed a man fitting the description of the subject, later identified as Jones and attempted to stop him.

Jones began to run and the deputy chased after the suspect.

“As Jones ran through the desert he threw a gun on the ground. Deputy Hoffman, assisted by Deputy Vogel, was able to catch Jones and take him into custody,” stated a press release.

“The gun was recovered as well and found to be a semi-automatic pistol which had been reported stolen out of Hesperia,” according to the release.

Jones was not involved in the domestic disturbance. Jones is on felony probation and was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for being a felon in possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed, stolen weapon.
