VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A street vendor known locally as the “Elotero” or “Corn Man” was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon in Victorville, and the suspect remains at large.
The incident occurred on October 7, 2025, at approximately 4:42 p.m. in the area of Wrangler Lane and Oasis Road, near La Mesa Road.
According to a written statement from Gloria Orejel, spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, an unknown male suspect, possibly a juvenile, ordered food from the vendor before brandishing a firearm and demanding money.
“The suspect held the victim at gunpoint, searched the victim’s pockets and ran off with more than $200 dollars,” stated Orejel.
A photo taken shows the suspect running from the scene immediately after the robbery. The image, captured on a cell phone, shows the back of a male wearing dark clothing as he fled on foot along the sidewalk.
Deputies responded quickly and conducted an area check, but the suspect was not located. The investigation is ongoing.
