Victorville Deputies Arrest Man Accused of Threatening, Chasing Victim With Knife

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 46-year-old man remained in custody Monday after deputies say he chased a man with a knife, threatened to stab him, and followed the victim into a nearby business early Saturday morning in Victorville.
The incident occurred on June 27, 2026, at about 2:51 a.m., near El Evado Road and Palmdale Road.
According to information provided to VVNG by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Jenny Smith, deputies responded to the area following a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.
When deputies arrived, they contacted the adult male victim, who told them he had been sitting at a bus stop near the incident location when Christopher Edmond Bryant, 46, began following him.
As the victim attempted to walk away, Bryant allegedly continued following him while armed with a knife. According to Smith, Bryant attempted to stab the victim while telling the victim he was going to stab him.
The victim ran to a nearby business for safety, but Bryant allegedly followed him inside and swung the knife at the victim, missing him.
Deputies arrived at the scene, located Bryant, detained him, and later placed him under arrest.
Bryant was booked at the High Desert Detention Center on suspicion of making criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon, and simple assault.
According to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department arrest records, Bryant remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, in connection with the criminal threats and assault with a deadly weapon charges.
