VICTORVILLE-(VVNG.com): Although the holidays bring positive experiences and happy times for most, a large amount of people suffer in silence during these times. Some feel abnormal, others just feel they do not want to put a damper on the spirits of others. For some all it takes is realizing that these feelings are normal and acceptable feelings. For others knowing there is assistance available regardless of insurance and in emergency situations is something that can help them to move on to feeling better.
Valley Star High Desert Walk-in Center has announced a move, as of December the crisis walk in center has moved into a new and larger facility located at 12240 Hesperia Rd., just north of Bear Valley Rd. The center offers immediate access to crisis mental health services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Services are available for all ages experiencing mental health emergencies including significant emotional or psychological stress. The center works under contract with the San Bernardino Department of Behavioral Health, which for many will be able to provide follow-up services.
This service provides an alternative to those of all ages with these emergency needs, to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, emergency rooms and for some, even jail. The center is qualified and can help stabilize the majority of these individuals that seek services. They currently serve over 4000 individuals per year and as many as 12 people at a time.
The setting is unlocked and you can stay for up to 23 hours voluntarily. Services include crisis stabilization and intervention, individual counseling, medication management, substance abuse treatment, family counseling, and education. The center will serve anyone from San Bernardino County coming in with immediate mental health needs.
