VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The City of Victorville in collaboration with the Mojave Water Agency will host the workshop, Residential Irrigation System Basics from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26 in Conference Room D at Victorville City Hall, located at 14343 Civic Dr.
This hands-on workshop is free and open to Victor Valley residents who are 18 and older.
Children from 12 to 17 years old may attend the workshop with a parent or guardian. Registration is required and available online at vv.city/IrrigationBasicsJAN19 or by phone at (760) 955-2016.
This workshop is designed to help residents convert their home irrigation systems. In particular, attendees will learn basic irrigation design principles and how to convert an existing pop-up spray system to a drip irrigation system.
“Learning to avoid overwatering and irrigation runoff through proper system design is essential to meeting our water conservation goals as a community,” said Donna McCormick, Water Conservation Supervisor for the City of Victorville. “We are grateful to the Mojave Water Agency for their generous sponsorship, which enables the City to offer this training free of charge to all Victor Valley residents.”
Refreshments will be served, and each attendee will receive a reusable canvas bag filled with landscaping, recycling and water conservation materials (while supplies last).
