Victorville City and SB County Fire announce approval of 9-month contract extension

VICTORVILLE, Calif. Today, the City of Victorville and San Bernardino County Fire joined forces to announce approval of a nine-month extension to their existing fire services contract.

The announcement followed this morning’s vote by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors in favor of the extension and just one week after the extension was approved by the Victorville City Council.

Under the terms of the agreement, San Bernardino County Fire will continue to provide fire protection services for the City of Victorville, excluding aircraft rescue firefighting services at Southern California Logistics Airport.  The contract extension will run from July 6, 2018 to March 30, 2019 and cost approximately $11.4 million.

As previously reported, the City will provide its own fire protection services at the conclusion of this holdover contract with San Bernardino County Fire.
