VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Officers with the Victorville California Highway Patrol conducted a traffic enforcement operation along US Highway 395 and the I-15 freeway on Friday.
CHP Officer Michael Mumford told Victor Valley News the goal of the traffic safety enforcement detail is to reduce traffic collisions and save lives.
On January 18, 2019, CHP Officers utilized a fixed-wing airplane, additional enforcement units from surrounding areas and officers on motorcycles during the traffic enforcement.
“Today’s enforcement detailed over 60 enforcement contacts by our motor officers and our officers and patrol vehicles,” stated Mumford. “Officers are still actively patrolling so the numbers will go up.”
Motorist that broke the law were pulled over and given tickets for various enforcement violations including, speed, registration, seatbelt violations, crossing double yellow lines, cell phone violation, and other pedestrian enforcement.

Mumford said speed is the number one cause of traffic collisions in California, and speed combined with aggressive driving contributes to the vast majority of serious collisions.
